If you're looking for a great spot to grab coffee or a tasty bite to eat I would highly recommend Cafe One Eight in Lancaster City on 18 W Orange Street.  I recently ate here for a business lunch and found it to be quite pleasant...and busy.  The space is quaint so the place was full and active but the atmosphere was quite and comfortable.  I enjoyed that my conversation wasn't overcome by music in the background or coffee making machines.  The owners did a great job creating a friendly and inviting environment combined with great food and even better coffee.  If you find it tasting right up there with Square One coffee then you won't be surprised to know the coffee is roasted from there.  This time I got the Kenya Matetani coffee in a mug and would highly recommend this as it's a great coffee that needs no milk or sugar.

As far as the menu is concerned there is a good selection of coffee, breakfast (served all day), and lunch.  If a nicely portioned salad is your taste there are several varieties with the Santa Fe Chicken being a good option or perhaps the Pear & Blue Cheese is more your flavor.  I got a Classic Bacon Panini (minus the tomato) and enjoyed it with my chips, although the serving sizes for paninis are on the smaller side.

I would be remiss to talk about Cafe One Eight and not mention the owners values and mission.  As stated from the website the owners believe "We believe God created every person for a unique purpose. While education and social programs are important, we believe that ultimately lives are changed by a relationship with Jesus."  In fact the name of the restaurant not only comes from the street address but also from a verse in the bible, Acts 1:8.  (Go to the website to see what the verse is at http://www.cafe1eight.com/)  It is great to know that these business owners are going deeper than just business as usual with a cup of coffee.

I would rate Cafe One Eight a 9 out of 10 with the only real drawback being the size of the seating area that seems to quickly fill up around busy times of the day.  I guess there's worse problems to have!
