Strasburg, Pennsylvania is, to me, one of the most beautiful parts of the country. The rolling hills and the laid back people make it a great place to visit and an even more wonderful place to live. Having grown up in Strasburg, I think I have at least a little idea of what's fun to see in Strasburg. So here we go:

1: "The Strasburg Railroad"

Any post about Strasburg would be lacking without a mention of the Strasburg Railroad. What's the big deal about a train you say? Well, this is no ordinary train ride. It is a trip that will take you back in time, through Southern Lancaster county's beautiful countryside. You get to witness working farms and hear from a tour guide about the Amish that are hard at work on those farms.

This is not just an adventure for parents though. The kids might enjoy it even more than you because 'Thomas The Tank Engine' will be at the Strasburg Railroad from June 12-20 and several other times this year.

2: Strasburg Creamery

Strasburg Creamery

The Strasburg Creamery is in the heart of Strasburg, on the corner of Main St and Decatur St. It is a great place to stop and take a break while taking in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. You can order fresh ice cream made that day or you can get a variety of soups and sandwiches including the "Strasburger". Their specialty in addition to the delicious ice cream is a bread bowl filled with Pennsylvania Dutch chicken corn soup.

The Creamery is at the heart of Strasburg's rustic Americana feel. You get quality service in a warm atmosphere and you can take your ice cream outside and sit on their porch and relax while taking in the views.

3. Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

You might get the chance to ride the train fairly often and maybe you don't have far to drive to get some good ice cream on a hot day, but how many times do you get the chance to get lost in a literal maze of corn? If you are like most people, probably not too often. There are other mazes around the country, but this is a great one to check out while you are in Strasburg and while you are there you can participate in a whole host of other activities including the pumpkin slinger, logic mazes, and the hay chute slide.

The maze opens up July 4th and goes to November 7th.
