Places to eat, drink, and hang out in Lancaster, Pa.  Check out my favorites and enjoy something new and fun!

I'll begin by saying that I'm not typically a "Soup and Salad" kind of a guy.  I must say though when I checked out Zoup! for the first time I was both surprised and impressed.  Soup just seems to have so many variations and styles that I feel like it's a food that most of us are easily dissapointed in unless it's Grandma's original recipe.

Zoup! first impressed me with the way the restaurant operates.  You get in line in the "decision and taste testing" section where guests can see the 12-15 soups that are available right in front of them.  You can ask for as many samples of any type of soup as you want so that you know you actually like the soup before committing to purchase.  The employees in my experience have been happy to answer questions and…

For those of you who are looking for different ideas of things to do in Lancaster City the First Friday Events are a must.  The bustling of the busy streets, impromptu playing of outside city pianos, art exhibitions, and entertainment on every street make for a great time.  The last time my wife and I were there we commented that on King St near the Marriot it almost felt like a big city almost, dare I say, Philadelphia??!?  It's great to witness a city grow and attract many local and non local guests with art, innovative exhibitions, and performances.  The First Friday event happens, as you might guess, the first friday of every month year round.

A great place to find entertainment, excitement, and an inspiring design atmosphere is at Tellus360.…

If you're looking for a great spot to grab coffee or a tasty bite to eat I would highly recommend Cafe One Eight in Lancaster City on 18 W Orange Street.  I recently ate here for a business lunch and found it to be quite pleasant...and busy.  The space is quaint so the place was full and active but the atmosphere was quite and comfortable.  I enjoyed that my conversation wasn't overcome by music in the background or coffee making machines.  The owners did a great job creating a friendly and inviting environment combined with great food and even better coffee.  If you find it tasting right up there with Square One coffee then you won't be surprised to know the coffee is roasted from there.  This time I got the Kenya Matetani coffee in a mug and would…
